| SAM AULT, at "redleg27@aol.com" is looking for the Medic in the Headquarters element of Company A in early 1969. I believe his first name was Bob and I believe he was an usher at Radio City before the Army. He treated me for injuries received during a Combat Assault in to a landing zone north of LZ White in March 1969, when we had to eject from the helicopter and fell 30-40 feet to the ground. I need him for a VA claim. Thanks (18 Sep 00) STEVE ADAMS, at "scadams@iapdatacom.net" checked in. He was RTO for Capt Joe Marm, Co Comdr (Bad Baron 6), then moved to Bn Hq. "I always had a keen ear for the Bad Baron Company (A), and miss many of my friends. We all dreamed about coming home--but when the time came it was bitter sweet. I missed my friends and brothers of the 1st Air Cav Div, the 1/8 Cav. I know all the other Sky Troopers know what I mean. Still today I think back on those days with some fond memories and sorrows. We lost many good men, but their sacrific for our countries sake, makes us all Proud. I wish you all GOD Speed. Capt Marm was a remarkable man whom I had the priviliege to serve with. I still have the feeling of pride for having served in the US Army. I am restoring an old 1957 M37 Troop Carrier, which shall proudly carry the bumper markings "1st Cav A 1/8. Sorry I missed the Reunion". (22 Aug 00) |
